Cr II - VERSION 10.1

The CHIANTI database has the following primary ASCII files for this ion:

  1. cr_2.elvlc (energy levels)
  2. contains the energy levels (in cm-1). It includes both experimental and theoretical values of the levels energies.

%File prepared for the CHIANTI atomic database by Peter Young.
    %File: cr_2.elvlc
    %Theoretical energies:
        Tayal S.S., Zatsarinny O., 2020, ApJ, 888, 10
    %Observed energies:
Kramida, A., Ralchenko, Yu., Reader, J., and NIST ASD Team (2019).
NIST Atomic Spectra Database (ver. 5.7.1), [Online].

    %Comment:
I assigned observed energies automatically by cross-matching configuration, term, J-value
and energy with the Tayal data. Note that theoretical energies are in very good agreement
with the NIST energies. Labels for the levels come from NIST.

  3. cr_2.wgfa (radiative data)
  4. contains wavelengths, gf and A values of the transitions. The wavelengths are based on the experimental energy levels and should be the best available. Wavelengths calculated from the theoretical energies are of an indeterminate accuracy and their values are presented as negative values of the calculated wavelength.

  5. cr_2.scups (electron collision data)
  6. contains the effective electron collision strengths scaled according to the rules formulated by Burgess and Tully (1992).

513 transitions were fit by hand with write_scups_gui. No problems with the data were found.
Of the 50322 transitions, most were fit automatically with write_scups.pro. The remaining
data file only covers 10^3 to 10^5 K.
Tayal & Zatsarinny stated that their upsilons were computed from 10^2 to 10^5 K, but their
        metastable levels (including ground).
I removed transitions for which the lower level was not a metastable level. There are 117
